ActCoFISH: Sustainable concept in ACTive edible COatings development for shelf-life extension of fresh Adriatic FISH

ActCoFISH is a multidisciplinary project that brings together expertise in food science, biopolymer materials, microbiology and sustainable production to achieve scientific advances in the field of food packaging. The project focuses on active packaging technology that transforms abundant biopolymers into sustainable, high-value-added active edible coatings for fresh fish.

The project focuses on the development and characterisation of new biopolymer formulations designed for edible coatings. Coatings made from natural resources and enriched with natural bioactive compounds will be optimised to preserve quality and prevent microbial deterioration of fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea.
