Highlights from the EXOTICA Project Technical Results Day

On June 15, UMR Lab hosted the EXOTICA Project Technical Results Day, organized in collaboration with Carnot Qualiment and Vitagora. The event aimed to present the main outcomes of the project, which focused on alternative proteins derived from insects and microalgae, as well as their structuring through high-moisture extrusion cooking.

Nearly 30 participants representing research organizations, higher education institutions, and companies from the food industry attended the event.

The scientific program featured presentations on:

  • novel protein sources and their functional properties;
  • extrusion-cooking processes applied to alternative proteins;
  • developments achieved within the EXOTICA project;
  • prospects for industrial applications and valorization.

The afternoon was dedicated to visits of PAM lab research laboratories and the Sayens technology platform, giving participants the opportunity to discover the equipment used throughout the project and to continue discussions in a friendly and interactive setting.

The event confirmed the growing interest of both academic and industrial partners in alternative proteins and helped strengthen the links between research and innovation.

The entire team warmly thanks the speakers, participants, Carnot Qualiment for funding the project and supporting the organization of this event, as well as all partners who contributed to its success.

Discussions are continuing, and the project teams remain available to answer questions and explore future collaborations and research opportunities.
