A new manager for the mini experimental cheese dairy platform FROMEX

On 1 October 2024, Noémie Pascault became head of the Mini experimental cheese dairy plateform FROMEX at the INRAE Poligny site within the PAM lab. She will manage the platform's scientific and operational aspects.

Noémie Pascault, who holds a PhD in microbial ecology, defended her thesis in 2010 at the University of Burgundy. Her work focused on the responses of soil microbial communities to the addition of crop residues, in relation to agricultural practices and the biological functioning of soils. Then, she added to her expertise during post-doctorates at INRAE Thonon-les-Bains, where she studied the degradation of fungicides by bacterial communities in lake waters, and at CNRS Paris, where her work focused on the nitrogen cycle by cyanobacteria using metatranscriptomic analysis.

Before joining INRAE, Noémie Pascault spent nine years as head of the dairy farming sector at LDA 39. She supervised milk analyses, which are important for quality payment and herd performance control. She monitored around 1,000 dairy farmers in the Jura and “Nord de l'Ain” regions, most of whom were involved in PDO such as Comté and Morbier. Milk samples were collected daily for analysis, covering composition and health criteria.
