Summary

Characterization of Clostridium perfringens and Clostridioides difficile hazards in cattle, pig, and poultry production chains in slaughterhouses

Assessing the importance of Clostridium perfringens and Clostridioides difficile in abattoirs and cutting plants in the beef, pork and chicken industries. This project will characterise meat contamination, the pathogenicity of strains and potential transmission pathways to humans. The project will also develop monitoring tools and explore innovative decontamination methods such as LED light.
